Creative Director
Forward is seeking a Creative Director to lead the development and execution of our work. This position requires a seasoned professional with 7+ years of experience in storytelling, immersive media, gaming, and digital product design. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of how engineering can drive innovative, technology-focused experiences beyond current boundaries.
In this role, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of designers, artists, writers, and technologists to create groundbreaking experiences. As a key member of the leadership team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping Forward’s vision as the company continues to grow. Your ability to align business objectives with exceptional user experiences and creative visual execution will be a hallmark of your success.
Responsibilities
Creative Leadership: Lead the creative vision for immersive media projects, including worldbuilding for games, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), interactive films, and live entertainment.
Forward Brand: Lead the way the Forward brand shows up across channels and through visual and verbal communication mediums.
Business Strategy: Align approaches and strategies with the CSO and work with innovation leaders to visualize the vision they have for new products and services using novel and scaling technology.
Worldbuilding Expertise: Develop comprehensive narrative universes that support rich, interactive, and engaging stories, crafting experiences that go beyond the screen.
Client Pitches: Collaborate with business development teams to pitch creative concepts to potential clients, investors, and entertainment partners. Present ideas in a clear and compelling manner that aligns with both business goals and creative vision.
Project Oversight: Guide the creative development process from concept to execution. Ensure that projects meet creative, technical, and business requirements while maintaining a high standard of quality.
Team Leadership: Inspire and mentor a team of creative professionals, including art directors, designers, writers, and animators. Foster a collaborative environment to ensure the best creative output.
Industry Expertise: Stay at the forefront of trends in immersive media, entertainment, and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to push creative boundaries.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, production, technical teams, and external partners to deliver world-class immersive experiences.
Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring their vision aligns with the company’s creative direction.
Content Strategy: Shape and define the content strategy for immersive projects, aligning with brand identity, audience engagement, and business objectives.
Qualifications
Passion and experience in the entertainment industry
7+ years experience in relevant field
Proficiency in 3D software such as Cinema 4D, with a portfolio that showcases innovative 3D design work integrated into advertising campaigns or interactive experiences.
Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and other industry-standard design tools.
Trained and applied skills in rapid prototyping
Trained and experienced in omnichannel digital experience design
Trained or have worked with teams who have designed in Unity and/or Unreal Engine
Strong background in one or more of the creative disciplines (design, art direction, interaction design, copywriting, motion graphics, creative development)
Strong concept development
Ability to identify unique creative methods to arrive at solutions
Understand the principles and process of web2, web3, VR, AR, and MR, AI (Text, voice, and image)
Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with the latest generative AI tools for creative work.
